Building Cultural Bridges to Tackle Global Challenges

The Atlanta Global Studies Center’s mission is to expand access to language learning and international education at the local, regional, and national levels. Our center, a partnership between the Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia State University, develops programs that advance Sustainable Development Goals through global collaborations.

A Regional Hub for Global Innovation

Since its inception, the Atlanta Global Studies Center (AGSC) has acted as a catalyst for international awareness and advanced language capacity. By bridging the gap between academic research and real-world application, the Center ensures that the Southeast remains a leader on the global stage.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

AGSC serves as a central point of connection for students, faculty, and professionals. Through strategic partnerships with Emory University, Spelman College, and the University of Georgia, we address critical challenges such as economic development, climate change, and migration flows. Our signature events, including the Atlanta Global Studies Symposium, provide a unique platform for educators and industry leaders to translate global insights into local action.

Since 2018, the Center has supported:
21,000+ participants through our diverse range of programs
50+ business, government, and NGO partnerships
200 events within the campus and Atlanta communities
100+ faculty grants, research projects, and publications

The AGSC has fostered partnerships, stimulated dialogue, and provided seed funding for programming that would not have been possible without it, and which has had profoundly positive benefits to its member institutions, their partners, and the communities, near and far, where that work unfolds. The AGSC is a critical convener, network-builder, and force multiplier for sustainability education with a global scope; we absolutely cannot do without the AGSC.
