2021 Symposium

A Vision of Global Resilience

2021 symposiumThe 2021 Atlanta Global Studies Symposium was held virtually from April 20 - 23, 2021. The annual symposium brought together educators, researchers, corporate, civic, and community partners, as well as graduate and undergraduate students, to discuss topics of global and local significance and to foster interdisciplinary collaboration across universities.

The symposium connected audiences to experts and research on various topics, including social justice, global health, Race Beyond Borders, international education, diplomacy, and peace education. The goals of the 2021 Symposium were to explore the lessons the past year has taught us about global interdependence, to celebrate our individual and collective resilience, and to support each other and the communities we serve through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Because of the challenges in planning and preparation that have resulted from developments related to the coronavirus, and in an abundance of caution, the 2020 Atlanta Global Studies Symposium was cancelled. The symposium was scheduled to take place April 23 - 25, 2020.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals in Education, Research, and Community Engagement

2019 symposiumThe Inaugural Annual Atlanta Global Studies Symposium fosters collaboration among institutions of higher education, the public and the community, and the k-12 sector in the Atlanta region and beyond through education, research, and outreach about global, regional, and international studies and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The symposium took place from April 25 - 27, 2019.
