Ghazi Abuhakema is an Associate Professor and Director of Asian Studies at the College of Charleston. He has a Phd in Foreign Language Education and specializes in Applied Linguistics. He has taught courses on Arabic language and culture at various universities and is certified in language proficiency testing. He is a consultant for the Distance Education Accrediting Agency and has received teaching awards. He co-wrote and published a textbook series on teaching Arabic and also several scholarly articles.
