Teaching the World Through Graphic Novels: A Collaborative Workshop for Georgia and Michigan K-12 Educators
Atlanta Global Studies Center collaborates with the University of Michigan and Michigan State University to organize a Graphic Novel Workshop for K-12 Teachers from Georgia and Michigan.
Building upon and expanding our multi-institutional collaborations (from my visit to Michigan last year and to Jonathan Valdez's presentation at the 2025 AGSC symposium), Atlanta Global Studies Center is happy to collaborate with University of Michigan and Michigan State University to offer a scholarship for teachers in two states. The scholarship is used to support K-12 pre-service and in-service teachers in Georgia to attend a workshop called "Teaching the World through Graphic Novel" for 2 days in Michigan.

💰 Scholarship includes round-trip tickets, three-night accommodations, and per diem.
🤝 Georgia teachers will have a wonderful opportunity to share their work with Michigan colleagues and expand their network and pedagogical practices.
📕 Georgia teachers will receive graphic novel resources after finishing the workshop.
✍ Requirements: Stay committed for three days and submit a lesson plan using your knowledge from the workshop.
