Track 2, Room 344
A workshop discussion on the future of the UN SDGs beyond 2030, and the need to design goals for achievable implementation at the local Atlanta level.
Join us for an engaging and forward-thinking workshop at the Atlanta Global Studies Symposium, where we will explore the future of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) beyond 2030. This session aims to foster a collaborative discussion on how we can design and implement SDGs at the local level in Atlanta.
The UN currently has a range of working groups charged with considering the post-2030 SDGs, and this workshop will look specifically at how the Goals can be redesigned to be better operationalized at an urban scale. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute their insights on the next iteration of SDGs, considering both global and local contexts. We will celebrate the achievements of the current SDGs while also critically examining their limitations and exploring innovative approaches for transformative change.
College students, faculty, business, community organizations, and government agencies are encouraged to join this dynamic session, where we will split into breakout groups to brainstorm and articulate specific goals for Atlanta. This collaborative effort aims to outline the basis for a guiding document that reflects our collective vision for sustainable development in our city.
Don't miss this chance to be part of a meaningful dialogue that shapes the future of sustainability in Atlanta and beyond. Your voice matters!
